Hot Fudge Sundae

Hot fudge sundaes are a great treat any time of the year and one of the best things about them is how easy and simple they are to prepare and customize to the individual tastes of people. Hot fudge sundaes can be made with any kind of toppings and ice cream but they almost always include a classic hot fudge that is poured over them to make them deliciously warm and gooey. One of the best ways to get this effect is to make your own hot fudge which is actually very easy and relatively quick. To make your own hot fudge you’ll need the following things:

three fourths a cup of sugar
six tablespoons of baking cocoa
one can (5 ounces) of evaporated milk
one third a cup of butter, cubed
three fourths a cup of marshmallows
one teaspoon of vanilla extract

In a large saucepan you’ll want to combine the sugar and the cocoa and then stir in the milk. Add the butter and then bring it to a boil and cook it until the sugar is dissolved. Add the marshmallows in and cook it until they are melted in. Remove it from the heat and stir in the vanilla.

Once you’re hot fudge is done you’ll want to let it cool just a bit and then pour it over your hot fudge sundae. It’s a good idea to get your sundae all ready while you’re waiting for the hot fudge to cool just a little bit. This will also help the fudge to get a bit thicker and have that nice gooey texture to it that makes hot fudge sundaes so good.

To prepare your sundae for the hot fudge you can be really creative and have as many components to it as you like but it’s usually best start with a pretty bowl. My favorite thing to sue here is glass so that you can see all the yummy treats that are inside it. Then a couple big scoops of vanilla ice cream. You can use other kinds of ice cream as well because hot fudge pretty much goes well on top of any kind of ice cream. It can also be fun to add other treats and things inside your sundae to make it more interesting. Just ice cream can get boring sometimes so lots of people like to add other ingredients. One of my favorite things to add is strawberries because they go so well with the hot fudge and bananas are another good option this way. You can add all sorts of different fruits, candy such as butterfingers, snickers, m&m’s, and even little pieces of brownies or cookie dough. These all go really well with hot fudge and can make your hot fudge sundae a lot tastier. You can also add other sauces like caramel and butterscotch and even put some nuts and some cherries on top of it.

Hot fudge sundaes are a really fun and quick treat so cook up some of your own hot fudge and enjoy one!
