Grilled Fruit Desserts

One of the fastest to have a dessert is to base it off of fresh fruit but many people don’t really like eating dessert plain or with just a bit of sugar on it so a great way to get around that is to slightly cook or grill or your fruits and transform them into a yummy dessert. This is so easy and quick to do that you can even put it together after a meal in just a few minutes and it’s guaranteed to be a hit with your guests or family especially if it’s served during the summer where a refreshing fruit dessert is well loved.

One of the easiest ways to go about this is to simple slice up some fruit into long pieces like mango, kiwi, apples, peaches, and other such types of fruit (the sweeter the better) and then place them on the grill with just a bit of sugar sprinkled on them. The grill will caramelize the sugar and bring out the sweetness of the fruit and it will have pretty sear marks on it as well which looks pretty cool and different for a dessert. You can do this with pretty much any fruit and it makes for a really tasty and quick dessert.

Another way to cook with your fruits is to take apple slices or other tougher fruits, sprinkle sugar and cinnamon over them and then bake them in the oven. They get very soft and tender and absorb the sweetness and have a lovely flavor and color to them once they get out of the oven. You can apply this method to pretty much any kind of fruit and use all sorts of different seasonings and just bake or grill them to help them absorb the sugar and flavors you’ve used. You can also mix together grilled fruits and put a vinaigrette or another yummy sauce on them to combine them all into a type of fruit salad.

It cal also be fun to take larger chunks of grilled fruit, like a slice of pineapple for example, and serve it with ice cream on top for a makeshift sort of sundae. You can even flavor the ice cream you serve it with to make it taste even better. It can also be fun to marinate your fruits before you put them on the grill in some water with various spices or flavorings. Some people even dip them in alcohol before putting them on the grill - just be careful if you do because the alcohol will ignite and cause an immediate and big flare up which can be dangerous but is also a fun way of impressing guests.

Just be sure that before you grill any of your fruits you clean the grill off completely because any left over drippings or flavors can create a very unpleasant combination. Fruit and bacon or hamburger grease is not a good taste and most guests will not be please with such a flavor to their fruit.

Overall fruit grilled is very easy and fun to do and it makes a nice and tasty, simple dessert. Have fun grilling!
