Brownies

Brownies are one of the most fun and universal desserts. You really can’t go wrong with brownies and you can add all kinds of fun and interesting ingredients into them that will make them unique and tasty. Plus brownies are very simply and they come together with hardly any effort at all. Brownies are loved by both children and adults so there’s nothing better to bring to a party or just to have after dinner as a special treat.

To get started with your brownies you’ll want to make sure that you have a 13x9 pan to put your brownies in as well as the following ingredients:

three fourths of a cup of melted butter
one and one half a cup of sugar
one and one half a teaspoon of vanilla
three eggs
one half a cup of cocoa powder
three fourths a cup of flour
one half a teaspoon of baking powder
one teaspoon of salt

You can also add in other ingredients like nuts, chocolate chips, little bits of mint candies, small candy like m&m’s, peanut butter, mocha, and so on. All you need to do is make sure that your consistency stays pretty even otherwise you might end up with brownies that are little bit hard to eat and not quite as tasty. If you’re worried about your brownies turning out right with other ingredients you’ve added in you can always make a mint or a peanut butter frosting to go with them and thereby avoid and mishaps in the oven.

Once you have your ingredients together you’ll want to preheat your oven to three hundred and fifty degrees and grease your pan. Many people use butter to grease their baking dishes but I prefer Pam - you can buy certain kinds that have flour in them as well to help avoid sticking.

Beat together your butter, eggs, sugar, and vanilla in a large bowl evenly. You want to do this for a fair amount of time so that you can incorporate some air into your butter and sugar mixture. This will help give your brownies a nice texture to them. Next mix in your cocoa, flour, baking powder, and salt and stir these well to combine them. This is where you would also add any other ingredients like nuts or chocolate chips you might want in your brownies. Mix those in well too.

Now pour your brownie batter into your greased pan evenly and let it settle for a minute. Then place it in the oven and cook it for twenty minutes or so - or until a toothpick comes out clean. Once you’re brownies are out let them cool for a few minutes and then you can serve them.

The best way to serve brownies is often with some ice cream and hot fudge but many people also serve them with caramel sauce or a fruit sauce, as a treat with chocolate fondue, or with a flavored frosting of some kind. There’s no wrong way to go about it and brownies are so simple and fun that everyone will be sure to enjoy them.
